What’s been happening:

Dr. Bin Li joined Abbott R&D Center, Shanghai in September of 2008. Prior to Abbott, Dr. Li was Vice President, Service Biology at ChemPartner to lead the Service Biology division. Before ChemPartner, he spent five years as Associate Director of Lead Discovery at Anadys Pharmaceuticals, a drug discovery and development company focused on infectious diseases and cancer. Before Anadys, Dr. Li was Director of Lead Discovery at X-Ceptor Therapeutics, a company specialized in nuclear receptor drug discovery. From 1998-2001, he led a group at Agouron/Warner-Lambert/Pfize to have carried out HTS for over a dozen targets. From 1991-1997, he worked at Syntex/Roche Bioscience as Research Scientist. With more than 16 years in pharmaceutical and biotech industry, Dr. Li is experienced with small molecule drug discovery in multiple therapeutic areas through participation and leadership in initiation of programs, assay development, lead identification, and characterization of preclinical candidates. On technology side, he led a team at Anadys to have validated ATLAS, an affinity-based screening technology that is broadly applicable to soluble proteins for identification of ligands. Dr. Li has authored over 20 publications and one patent.
